Preventative Dentistry

Our team is committed to helping improve your oral health in the most conservative, cost-effective way possible. We understand that the cost of dental treatment is a big issue for everyone these days. But consider the fact that most dental insurance covers 100% of the cost of dental exams and cleanings. When you compare that to more involved treatments that may or may not be covered, you can see that prevention is the obvious choice.

Regular dental exams allow us to detect problems that may be developing, like gum disease and tooth decay. X-rays let us see what’s going on deep inside your teeth and help us create a treatment plan to address these problems while they are still minor. Every exam also includes an oral cancer screening so we can find potential problems in their earliest stages.

Dental cleanings every six months are the foundation for good oral health. After examining your teeth, our hygienist may recommend more frequent cleaning.

During a routine cleaning, our skilled hygienist gently removes the build-up of plaque and tartar on your teeth and around your gum line. Plaque and tartar that linger on your teeth can lead to periodontal disease and risk damaging your long-term oral health.

Fluoride treatments are another effective tool for helping to maintain oral health. In most cases, our patients absorb sufficient fluoride through food and water supplies. But everyone’s needs are different, and periodic exams help us determine if fluoride treatments should be a part of your preventive dental care.

Dental sealants are a thin protective coating applied to the grooves and the chewing surface of your teeth. Sealants smooth over the deep natural grooves of molars, making them easier to clean and reducing the risk of decay.

Our goal is to make it as easy as possible for you and your family to keep your teeth healthy and strong. We will work with you to develop a personalized treatment plan that takes all aspects of your oral health needs, lifestyle, and budget into account.
